Award for Castle Park Primary 23 June 2010

Jessica was delighted to attend a special award ceremony at London Zoo, held by the Young People's Trust for the Environment. The award was given to four schools across the country, which had developed and created a piece of work to promote the importance of the environment and sustainability.

Out of almost 26,000 young people who took part, Year 6 of Castle Park Primary, was one of the four winners. Their project, a study on the proposal for a Severn Barrage across the estuary, was a tremendous analysis of the issues involved, which included a survey of local people views.

Jessica said “It was a huge honour to present the award to Year 6. The quality of their project is a true testament to the smart, hardworking Year 6 and their teachers. They approached a controversial topic, both locally and nationally, in a thoroughly professional manner, they deserved the award. I am so proud of them.” Jessica with Year 6
