Labour's Growth Strategy

We need to grow our economy in order to deal with the deficit. We need people in work paying taxes, not out of work claiming the dole. This Coalition government is going too deep, too fast on public spending cuts, and do not have a growth strategy. If you get the economy growing, you reduce the deficit. This is Labour’s strategy for growth:

Labour’s five-point plan for jobs and growth

1.      100,000 jobs for young people

2.      Bring forward investment projects like new school buildings

3.      Temporarily reverse the VAT rise – a £450 boost for families with children

4.      Cut VAT on home improvements to 5% for a year

5.      A tax break for every small firms which takes on extra workers
